Meng Tzu,Mencius

..
Every human being is born good ;
hence,if man maintains his original nature,he will remain good.
..
In man's original nature there is :
a sense of shame,
a sense of courtesy,and
a sense of right and wrong.
..
If man relies only on his sense perceptions without subjecting them to the control of mind,
he falls into evil ways and perverts his original nature.
..
If a man allows the desire for personal gain to overcome his righteousness
- his sense of social obligations-
he also perverts his nature.
..
The ideal ruler is considerate of his subjects' interests,
and provides both moral leadership and adequate social welfare.
..
Any person who practices the principles of humanity and righteousness with sincerity radiates the spiritual influence of his universe.
